Lt Cdr (Dr) Vikrant Malhan
Chief Security Officer (CSO)
Lt Cdr (Dr) Vikrant Malhan, A Third Generation Defence Officer who is currently the HOD (Security)/ Chief Security Officer (CSO), Western Coalfields Ltd. He is a ardent professional with an experience of over 25 Years including Armed Forces where he has served extensively in both India and abroad onboard various Ships and Establishments. He is an MBA in Human Resources with Dual Specialisation in Marketing. Besides, he holds an M.Sc. in Psychology and a Ph.D in Management. He joined CIL at Central Coalfields Ltd (CCL) in 2012. Prior to his tenure in Western Coalfields Ltd, he was posted in Central Coalfields Ltd (CCL) wherein he spearheaded the CCL-Ke-Lal & CCL-Ki-Laadli, Member Secretary, Member (Administration), Member (Security) and Technical Secretary to Jharkhand State Sports Promotion Society (JSSPS), both CSR initiatives of CCL. He joined WCL on promotion in 2021 and took over as HOD (Security) on 03 Apr 2025. As the HOD (Security)/ CSO; he has initiated a number of initiatives which include designing and implementing a number of structured Security Training Programmes at the Security Training Institute (STI), Indora which has been duly appreciated by The Secretary, Coal, Govt. of India and Chairman Coal India. He has been instrumental in successfully conducting Live Weapon Firing Training and rechristened the Security Department War cry- "सक्षम, सर्वोत्तम, सर्वज्ञ" and instilled an element of Patriotism and feeling of belongingness by devising a number of Security Initiatives. He was instrumental in the conduct of first ever PSU level Security Seminar- Trust वर्दी which saw wide participation of Industry & Security experts from across India. During his tenure, a large number of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) were prepared, approved and disseminated which were duly released by the Chairman-cum-Managing Director and all FDs of WCL.
